Shield Up!
We’re human and most of us get nervous about presentations or public speaking. I had an important seminar last week, and I was anxious about it. I practiced my presentation, trying to anticipate questions and work out the answers. But I was still uncomfortable when I woke up the morning of the event. And then I remembered to shield.
Shielding is valuable when confronting a difficult situation. In work and life, we are faced with challenging people and situations. Often, they are placed in our lives specifically to help teach us important lessons. But that doesn’t mean we must walk around open to harsh treatment. Learning to shield brings strength to our mind and body no differently than a warrior’s shield against an invader. It can help calm us before a big event and achieve peak performance.
This technique is practiced in several spiritual modalities. Still, I learned the best shielding technique from my Akashic Records teacher, Lisa Barnett, who founded the Akashic Knowing School of Wisdom. She allowed me to repeat her exact procedure in my newest book. In “When the Birds Stopped Singing,” Serena, the wood nymph, teaches this technique to a young Caroline to help her feel stronger and push back against someone menacing her.
To properly shield your soul, it must be in your body. (Did you know it leaves to go looking for information or to meet with guides or other spirit entities? Typically, it journeys when you are asleep.) You go through a step-by-step process to strengthen your body and create a shell. Lastly, you say the specific incantation.
The shielding process I use helps us interact directly with our soul and empowers us. Your third chakra is at your solar plexus, where the soul enters and departs from the body. Placing your hand over this chakra helps you connect directly with your soul. Feel it when you put up your shield and draw strength from it.
Remember, when facing a difficulty, shield up!
